We had the amazing pleasure of shooting with Louisa a couple times this spring.  A senior at Monarch, Louisa is a very edgy, creative senior.  She actually is a photographer herself and quite the author.  I got a chance to read a couple of her pieces and they were extremely insightful and beyond her years as just a HS senior.

When you look at her, she reminds me of a young Audrey Hepburn.  Very classic beauty.  She has such a strong sense of fashion and puts together a lot of unique outfits and looks.

We also did some studio work.  Louisa looks like she just walked onto the cover of 17 magazine.  The pants were actually resewn by her to get that cool fashiony look.  We actually have some more shoots with Louisa coming up, so stay tuned.  She posed as well as any of the professional models I’ve shot with and it was hard to get a bad picture :).

Our daughter attends Gymnastics Unlimited up north.  We got to know Jo Jo because her little sister, Lydia, is on Echo’s team.  I had been wanting to offer more dramatic sports photos for our local HS athletes and wow, did we find one!  Jo Jo just qualified for nationals on team.  Nationals are in early May.

She was also named the Colorado Gymnast of the year at the Colorado State meet we went to see.  Congrats to Jo Jo for such a great year.  Give us a call if you want sports photos that aren’t you posing with with a ball :).  We try to capture the true athlete, the grace, power and ability in each athlete.

We’ve been so busy shooting, we’ve been remiss in posting some of our shoots. Look for the next few posts from some of our senior models. Halleta, applied a month or so ago. We finally got to shoot with her downtown. It had finally warmed up a bit in Denver and we had some great light toward the end of the day. Halleta looked amazing throughout the shoot. She really couldn’t take a bad picture.

It’s senior photo season again

Well, we’re full tilt already on the 2010-2011 graduating class. Our model program is in full swing and we’ve got lots of shoots coming up this month. We kicked off our senior season with Taylor who agreed to be one of our models for 2011. Taylor is such a beautiful girl, you often forget what a talented athlete she is too.

Expect to see Taylor on the Volleyball court in college this coming year. This was our studio session with her, we’ll follow up shortly with her urban shoot in a few weeks, when it decides to warm up here in Denver. It was a fun shoot and even our assistant Jayson got behind the camera for a fantastic shot. So, here is a sample from the tons of pictures we took. Claudia and Jayson did a fantastic job!

Tired of the same old, same old

So are we…standard sets, standard poses, senior pictures that look like everyone else. This winter Seniors @ 5280 has been working on brand new looks. Highly stylized fashion shoots, urban sessions, sports action, etc. We absolutely love shooting with Seniors with only your imagination as the limit. Tivonne Shoot

We finally got to shoot with Tivonne in our studio.  We had some wonderful outdoor urban shot that we had with her on a very cold day and we finally wrapped up in the studio.  She looked fantastic and even tried on one of our Nepal wrap dresses.  Her mom found yet another way to wrap this up into a fashion look.  So here’s a few samples!

We’ve been absolutely slammed.  It’s difficult to keep up the site, but I’ve committed to post at least one shoot a month, hopefully twice a month.  Janel is from Wyoming, also wanted to head toward modeling.

She’s got very classic lines and was a natural at modeling.  She must have posed a few times before we met.  It was great to try out our new location.  This is late afternoon and I think this location will look even better early morning.

Inaugural First Photoshoot Post

Since redesigning Seniors@5280 and launching with the combination website/blog, we’ve decided to blog a few photo shoots as they happen, hoping to keep a record over time to help remember places, styles, etc. And, just for the fun of it!

Our first shoot blog was with Ashlee. We not only shot senior pictures, but Ashlee is heading into modeling, full force. She’s one of the most driven teenagers I think I’ve seen in a while. She’s a natural in front of the camera and has a plethora of poses based on the situation. We worked in the studio a bit to get that more magazine-style edge. The gallery below tries to square everything up, thus the chopped off head. Just click on the pictures to blow them up.

Claudia had found this old building in town. Not sure why it’s there, but it’s a run down brick building with a Greek column facade. I’m sure we’ll show more of this building, just to show off the facade a bit. Anyway, next shoot on Tuesday, if Denver doesn’t continue to act like Seattle with all the rain. Cloudy light isn’t bad to shoot in, it’s just not what we were planning.
