The New Sports Portrait

Posted on August 29, 2010

Athletes, don’t want to just wear your letterman jacket standing next to a tree?  Senior portraits are about capturing you, your talent and athleticism.  We want to create sports portraits that aren’t posed.  So, bring us your A game.  Let us create something unique and amazing for you…sports is our specialty!  Thanks to Dezmon, Dominic, Emily, Jo Jo, Jordan, Kori, Richard and Tyler for helping us create such great images.  We create unique photos of every sport!

We bring out your inner beast!

Ballet Interpretations

Posted on August 17, 2010

Okay, I admit it.  I love to shoot ballet pictures.  And aside from gymnastic photos because my daughter is in gymnastics, I could shoot nothing but ballet.  There are just so many creative options that all look beautiful.  It’s hard to shoot a bad picture :).  Lauren is one of our HS seniors this year and although we did some of our traditional urban fashion shots, it was ballet outfits that made my day even better.

To be fair, it’s also hard to shoot a bad picture of Lauren.  Anyway, here was the rest of our evening!

Downtown track

Posted on August 7, 2010

I absolutely love senior photography.  You meet the most interesting, driven and amazing kids.  Can I call them kids?  Sure I can, I’m old :).  Kori is a track star at Creek.  He made it to national’s this year.  The obvious thing would have been to bring him to a track and shoot some common track action shots.  But as you know, we hate the obvious!  We made him jump into his spandex track suit and try to capture a bit of his essence downtown.

The orange shoes were too cool to pass up to.  I have a new appreciation for track uniforms.  They kind of look like super hero outfits.  I can’t wait to see what the next athlete we shoot is.  Thanks Kori for a great shoot and we’ll finish up the other half of your shoot in a few days!

Catching up…Leanne’s photoshoot

Posted on July 11, 2010

We actually shot this a couple months ago, but things have been so crazy, I’m backed up on posting some of our recent shoots. Good news and bad news I guess. Anway, Leanne is one of our Northern Colorado Seniors…we seem to get a lot from up north and out east. Tall, beautiful and fashionable is a tough combination.

We really went out for some fashion images here, let us know what you think. Short text for now, probably just mostly pictures for a while, so we can work off the summer backlog. Lot’s of interesting stuff coming up, stay tuned.

Erika in Urban

Posted on December 6, 2009

One of our favorite senior venues is down town Denver.  Erika hails from the Southern Colorado area.  She drove all the way up to meet us and shoot.  Not quite the setting of the rest of her classmates photos :).  Several changes of outfits and a bit of a hike around LODO and we had the final results.  Erika has such a classic beauty, it made her so easy to shoot with.

The Wonderful Thing about Photography

Posted on August 8, 2009

You run into so many unique and interesting people when you’re shooting portraits. You look for and find the best in everyone you shoot, which is a marked difference from the corporate world. This is our shoot with Max, short for Maximus. He as the most beautiful blue eyes.

I often think, a photographer is a bit of a spy when shooting kids, just watching in on a scene as it develops and waiting for reactions that bring out their wonderful personalities. This is perhaps the funnest part of Children’s photography. That and watching your best laid plans of mice, men and photographer, get thrown out the window in the first couple shots. Kids will be who they are :).  So you need to be ready to move and adapt.  It’s just too much fun!

Ashlee’s Updated Model Shoot

Posted on July 24, 2009

Congrats to Ashlee.  She signed with her first agency.  We knew when we first shot with her, she was destined for big things.  We can’t wait to see how she grows and who knows what TV or magazine we’ll start seeing her in.

This is a new location for us in downtown Denver.  Zero horizon pool, overlooking the entire front range and downtown.  It was just beautiful out in the evening.  We must have shot for 4 hours.  Anyway, here’s a few from the shoot.

Good luck Ashlee…remember us when your BIG :).
